Love Threads was born from a journey of renewal and rediscovery, a reminder that love, kindness, and purpose can be woven into everything we do.
In 2024, I travelled to India on a breath work and meditation retreat after a period of significant life changes. There’s so much awareness that can birth when we leave our comfort zones and experience life in others culture and challenge our thoughts, beliefs and values.
In India, everything changed. The contrast of life there: the colour, the chaos, the humility of people who had so little yet given so much, shifted something within me. I found love in its purest form: in the smiles of strangers, in hands held without words, in kindness freely given. Each day, my heart began to fill with a love for humanity. I realised that compassion and connection are the threads that stitch us all together in this life.
That experience became the soul of Love Threads. The Love represents the compassion that was poured back into me when I felt empty. The Thread symbolises our shared humanity, the invisible thread that connects us all.
During my visits to India, I was exposed to many different situations and the contrast of varying socio-economic positions. I wanted to see how people in India were living, how they made a difference with the ways they lived in support of one another and in communities. I witnessed and spent time with an organisation in Delhi supporting street children and families living in poverty. I saw makeshift schools built on pavements, where children with no birth certificates, and therefore no access to formal education, were being taught, fed, and cared for. Despite having so little, they radiated grace, joy, and generosity. That experience opened my eyes and my heart. I couldn’t return home unchanged. I knew I had to find a way to weave that compassion into something lasting.
Love Threads is not just a clothing label. It’s a living expression of kindness, a reminder that beauty means more when it carries purpose. Through ethical production, fair wages, and purposeful partnerships, every Love Threads garment is woven with a thread of connection and care.
Our giving initiative, The Common Thread Project, ensures that every purchase contributes to global and local causes, from education to healthcare and community empowerment. Our dream is to one day fund the building of schools and medical centres, creating spaces that nurture connection, hope and bring change.
